Human-first Technology • Data • Operations

People are your strongest tech stack.

Every system depends on the people who have to trust it and put it to work, and the operations built — or never built — around them. I’ve spent over two decades finding the first break point, then building optimization, adoption, and longevity from there.

About

The problem changes.
The method doesn’t.

Christen Ng is an executive operator across data, technology, operations, people, and strategy. She has built, scaled, and modernized capabilities across institutions and regions under real constraints.

Her method welds the seams.

She reads the full operating system, traces how decisions, information, and accountability actually move, and determines where the break sits: technology, process, governance, decision structures, or organizational capacity. Then she builds the path forward with the people who will sustain it.

Through Efforts to Impact, Christen brings that discipline, along with enough levity to keep difficult work human, to select fractional, interim, and advisory mandates for mission-driven organizations.

The measure

Success is measured by what continues: clearer decisions, stronger teams, and systems people trust, use, improve, and carry forward.

Where the work begins

When the organization has
outgrown how the work gets done.

Each mandate is shaped around the decisions, constraints, and operating conditions the organization actually faces—not an idealized future state.

01

Executive Leadership & Cross-Functional Ownership

Executive capacity across technology, data, operations, and people when consequential work crosses functions and ownership is unclear.

02

Operating Strategy & Execution

Priorities, ownership, and sequencing grounded in what the organization can actually carry and execute.

03

Systems Modernization & Organizational Readiness

Right-fit technology, workflows, governance, and adoption for systems and delivery models the organization has outgrown.

04

Executive Transition & Continuity

Judgment, operating capacity, and clear decision-making through leadership change, institutional risk, and the chapters between.

Proof points

Receipts, not adjectives.

Three engagements across a K–12 system, a workforce social enterprise, and an executive technology mandate. Each one still standing.

Founded artlook®, a decision-grade civic data platform serving 681 schools and 1,000+ arts partners in the nation’s third-largest school district. The work earned a Boeing Chicago Innovation Award and later scaled across seven U.S. regions. Built the Creative Schools Certification rubric embedded in CPS’s first Arts Education Plan.

Built the SROI framework that quantified $5 in social value for every $1 invested using longitudinal employment and public-assistance data. Deloitte later vetted the model, which still informs organizational decisions two decades later.

Assessed eight core technology domains and translated the findings into a board-approved three-year roadmap. Workflow redesign then returned 1,420 staff hours annually and reduced recurring operating costs by $100.8K.
